Mrs Rachel Parry, BA (Hons) QTS, Headteacher.
The origins of Hague Bar Primary School stretch all the way back to 1854, with a school which was in existence at the Strines Print Works. That school closed on the 2nd of May 1879, and relocated to Hague Bar. The doors to the new school officially opened on the 5th of May 1879.
Hague Bar Primary School is just inside the Derbyshire border. It lies between the town of New Mills in Derbyshire and Strines in Cheshire. The school is situated on the edge of the countryside and enjoys stunning views of fields and distant hills.
Hague Bar Primary School has a highly successful academic record, an enterprising curriculum and a well-deserved reputation for exemplary behaviour amongst the pupils. Copies of Ofsted reports are available from the school office, here and online https://reports.ofsted.gov.uk/provider/21/112598.
We are proud of, and celebrate, the achievements of our children, both in and out of the classroom, and we are here to help your child make the most of their potential.

This has many meanings: looking after your children at playtime; keeping your children safe online; ensuring our building is in good order; risk-assessing off-site activities; or taking action to prevent a threat. Every single member of Hague Bar Primary School staff has been trained to deal with these and other circumstances. Our robust Governing Body ensure upkeep of current policies and that they are actioned day to day. Our Designated Safeguarding Lead is Mrs Rachel Parry and her Deputy is Ms Louise Moore. They are always available to hear any concerns regarding a child's physical, mental or social well-being.
If you suspect abuse please use this direct link ...As a staff, we regularly collaborate with The Peak Edge Group of Schools to ensure a thorough and current examination of our delivery of teaching and learning. More recently, we have begun discussions with The True Learning Partnership: parents have been, and will continue to be, consulted and updated. Leaders and Governors of Hague Bar Primary School are seeking the very best future for our children.
Hague Bar Primary School has a well-deserved reputation for sport participation and achievement. We deliver sport to all our children with our partners UKSports who are specialist sports teachers. Dance and Drama are delivered to our younger junior children via more specialists called 'Art is...'. Children of all ages are involved in local sports competitions at varying levels. Every child is encouraged to participate and the children take pride in producing match or competition reports, which are read out in assembly. Additionally, we take our older KS2 children swimming weekly, and to Whitehall Outdoor Education Facilty every six weeks, to experience a wide variety of activities: abseiling, canoeing, caving, kayaking, orienteering, mountain biking and stream scrambling. Our older children also venture on a 3 day residential to Lea Green, Derbyshire.
Get in touch with Mrs Wagstaff, our Office Manager, and she will get back to you as soon as she can.
